One-to-One Learning

Halstrom's one-to-one learning model works.

Why does it work?

In education, one size does not fit all. When a teacher tailors a teaching method to the unique needs of a student, the chance for a positive outcome increases exponentially. Halstrom's time-tested one-to-one learning model guarantees better results in learning.

How we teach

Learning is a personal, life-long experience. Optimum learning occurs when the student actively participates in the process. Our instruction focuses on the learner's skills, interests, needs, and rate of progress. Each student and teacher work together one-to-one to set and achieve learning expectations and personalized goals.

The teacher develops a mentor relationship with the student. The focused learning interaction that occurs in our one-to-one 45 minute sessions, increases the student's responsibility in the learning process because of the back and forth dialogue about the material being studied. Each student is responsible for completing homework and projects in between weekly class meetings.  Read more from a teacher's perspective on 1:1 instruction.

Independent Learning

Teachers encourage independent learning. Our graduates tell us that self-discipline and personal accountability they develop by learning to work independently has helped them to be successful in college and a wide range of careers.
