Education without boundaries.
By preparing students for tomorrow's world through the thoughtful application of leading edge technology, Halstrom seeks to INSPIRE each student, each family, and the community to rethink the structure of traditional learning.
Why technology matters.
The fastest-growing occupations in the United States and the world according to nearly every study including the US News and World Report – are in the science and technology fields. Science and technology jobs, such as, software engineers, biomedical engineers and network architects are growing at a pace of 72 percent compared to the 10 percent average across all careers. It is essential for today's education to prepare students to be both users and creators of technology. While most public and even elite private schools continue to educate students out of textbooks, using pen and paper, and with computer labs with 10 year old equipment - starting in the fall of 2011, every student at Halstrom will have an iPad and access to the latest mobile and desktop applications and equipment.
Technology leadership in action.
Innovation is in our DNA. Halstrom is a non-traditional school, rethinking how teachers teach, and students learn. At the pace of technological change we are continually updating and improving our equipment and course offerings to keep our facilities and our students ahead of the curve. We use cutting-edge software and hardware for instruction and assessment to better teach and prepare students for the technologies and opportunities of the 21st century and beyond. In addition, we implement business technologies such as videoconferencing to offer real-time online virtual courses where students anywhere in the world can experience the one-to-one difference with one of our teachers.
